Julie Reisinger, CVT, LATg

Owner/Pet Sitter/Dog Walker

Julie is the owner and operator of SLV Pet Care.  Originally from Arizona, Julie moved to Colorado from Flagstaff in 2008 to attend Bel-Rea Institute in Denver.  She graduated in 2010 with an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology, and began working at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where she worked in various facets of biomedical research.  She passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam at the end of 2010, which qualified her to receive Certified Veterinary Technician status through the Colorado Association of Certified Veterinary Technicians, and has been a member in good standing since.  While at CU, Julie also obtained further certifications, the highest being Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATg).  Receiving these extra certifications shows her dedication to advancing her knowledge about the care of all species of animals.  In the summer of 2019, Julie relocated to the San Luis Valley with her husband, Mike, and their two dogs Dolly (Standard Poodle, 12) and Dave (Giant Schnauzer, 4).  While visiting the valley, she noticed that there were not a lot of pet service options, especially for dogs (and other animals) that could not be boarded.  It was then that Julie decided she would use her skills  as a CVT to move her pet sitting and dog walking experiences from hobby to professional business, and SLV Pet Care was born!
